Preorder starts for all-new electric Kia Niro sporting all the latest high-tech spec

The all-new Kia Niro EV, the latest from Kia’s all-electric category, is now available for preorder across South Korea. Specifications and price tags for two trims of the new model are unveiled on Kia’s website and customers are able to book the new models before they are available for purchase in the country, the company said on Tuesday.

The all-new electric sport utility vehicle features excellent power performance from a high-efficiency front-wheel motor with a maximum output of 150kW and a maximum torque of 255Nm.

The new model, equipped with a 64.8kWh high-voltage battery pack, smart regenerative braking system 2.0, and high-efficiency heating heat pump and battery heating systems, can travel up to 401km on a single charge with a combined fuel efficiency of 5.3Km/kWh, according to the specs.

It is the industry’s first EV equipped with a battery conditioning function that optimally manages the battery temperature for better charging performance. To improve fuel efficiency, the new Niro EV is installed with an i-pedal mode that enables acceleration, deceleration, and even stopping with an accelerator pedal alone.

The interior is more spacious than before as the redesigned Niro has grown in dimensions and trunk load compared to the first-generation model.

More tech is embedded within the car’s new look for convenience features, including vehicle-to-load (V2L) to plug in an external electric device and in-car payment system, as well as advanced driver-assistance systems such as intelligent speed limit assist and remote smart parking assist.
