South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. will unveil its latest smartphone with detachable extra display for dual-screen experience at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2019, the Europe’s largest technology trade show that will kick off on September 6 in Berlin.

The electronics giant has sent out its video invitation to global media on Tuesday to notify that it will showcase its upcoming flagship smartphone at IFA 2019. The new phone, though its name has not been disclosed yet, will support dual screens like its predecessor V50 ThinQ, the company’s first 5G-based smartphone released in May as an alternative to its bigger rival’s foldable phone.

In the video clip, a game character gains camera and gamepad items in one screen, and then another same-sized screen appears to the left in which the character moves to a map to reach IFA in Berlin.

The latest handset will have an attachable flip-cover display to allow users to use the two screens as one or use them separately to run two different apps at the same time.

The company plans to hold a media conference to take the wraps off its new smartphone at Pullman Hotel Berlin Schwizerhof on September 5, a day before the opening of IFA. It is expected to release the product around October.

LG Electronics is estimated to have sold around 300,000 units of its first 5G-based smartphone V50 ThinQ since its launch in May, according to market sources. The device that came with a detachable second screen for the first time in the industry generated the second highest early sales among LG’s smartphone models following G3 released in 2014 and sold 5.3 million units around the world. During a conference call held after second-quarter earnings release, the company said its V50 accounted for around 20 percent in the 5G smartphone market in Korea.
