Hyundai Glovis Co., a logistics unit under South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group, has added sales offices in Delhi and Mumbai to expand its presence in the fast-growing Indian cargo transport market.

The new office in Delhi will be responsible for the northern part of India and Mumbai office the western region, said Hyundai Glovis on Thursday. The two sales offices are addition to the Korean company’s two Indian outposts in Chennai and Anantapur in the south.

Hyundai Glovis said that with its Delhi and Mumbai offices, the company will focus to expand its logistics services to third-party companies in India, primarily in four areas of finished car transport, automotive parts delivery, general freight shipping, and export/import of cargoes.

The Indian logistics market for transporting automotive parts for after-sales service has been growing at annualized rate of 18 percent in line with the rapid growth in the local car market, according to the company. It also plans to ramp up both vehicle and auto parts transport orders from non-Hyundai, global finished car brands running assembly lines in Mumbai and Delhi.

It also aims to expand its non-auto transport business in India by bidding for general freight orders such as food and electronics.

The two offices, especially the Mumbai branch, will focus on logistics service for exports and imports, for Mumbai being one of India’s major ports. The Korean company plans to establish an all-in-one system for logistics service, ranging from loading/unloading cargo to customers clearance, storage and transport.
